My Nuvo reference book

Evening all..... just a very simple and quick post for you all today ..

I have been asked many times about my little reference book I made for my Nuvo collection. So here it is.

I always like to try to sort my pens / embellishments etc into sets, and especially as with the Nuvo, they coordinate so beautifully. So, I decided to make my usual alcohol marker chart, but to incorporate a few other bits and bobs.

As you can see, the little book is made from board and then I bound it all with my Bind it All. I have these books for my copics, my promarkers and also my kuretake markers, so I obviously needed one for my Nuvo now didn't I?!

As you can see looking down the pages of the book, I don't really like to go off the colour names, numbers and such like... I like to colour myself a swatch of colour onto the cardstock I generally use in my cardmaking.

Now, here insert a LIGHTBULB - because you may or maynot know that all cardstock is different. If you colour on one and colour on another, the colours may not be the same. I have my favourite cardstock I would always turn to, and you may have another, but use this reference book as just that. A reference. Please PLEASE try your colours on a scrap of paper you are colouring on first.

You can clearly see next to the pen colours, I have tried to match up the Nuvo drops too. These have the numbers of the bottle and also the colour reference on too. Just for easiness with write ups.

Here are a few blank pages at the back of the book. Now, these are mainly for when you have a great colour combo you don't want to forget... like for skin, or hair, or anything else that you would have a problem with in the future.

The little book measures around 6 inches by 3 inches, and the boards were covered with paper on both sides.

I hope you like today's little make, and I hope it inspires you to come up with something similar. xxx

A few little bits..

Here are a few bits I've been working on over the last few days. I can't show a good proportion of my work, it's part of the official secrets act, and I would get shot if I shared.. so sorry... no go.. !

I'm at Papermill in York this evening on behalf of Trimcraft, doing a Loyalty Event, so these are a few of the bits I'm taking with me.
This was covered with the lovely paper from DCWV Nursery Boys. I just love the new packs, they are so more-ish.

Laura Ashley stamps and papers on this one.

Very simple tea bag folding - this one isn't quite finished yet.

And this is a BIA book I made as a prezzie for one of Martina's friends. I made a card to match it too, but that was just basically the same papers. This was from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies papers.. they are luvverly!

And last but not least, my favourite.. a little mini album of Holly and Scooby, put together by Carley. I made a presentation bag/box for it to go in too.. How Sweet!

Cards, Cats and everything in between....

What a week... I've got work coming out my ears.. and I love it!

Sorry I've not been around much this week, I've been in a bit of a tiz after losing Biela last week, and with work, dogs, work, cats, work (you get the picture??) I've been a tad occupied.

But - I have found time to nip back and say Hi.. and even upload some bits I've been working on.

Firstly, I want to introduce you to Senna. This is B's brother. Playing out in the honeysuckle....isn't he luvverly, and he's coping so well without his brother.

Secondly, my two poopies.. Scooby (L) and Holly (R). I don't know what Scooby is doing.. lol.. but I think Carley took a brilliant photo of them - don't you?
These two photos were taken yesterday. They are a few of the lovely flowers that Mum bought me for my birthday on Tuesday.. all my favourite flowers in a lovely bouquet.. Thank you!

Now... do you want to see some cards??

These are a few bits I've been working on for my demo at the Range, Rochdale this weekend. If you're close by, why not call in to say Hi.

The projects above were made using the new DCWV papers - they are simply LUSH! Blossoms and Butterflies has to be my favourite, which is what was used to make the BIA book above. It just needs some ribbons and then it's finished.

In the collection of new papers is also Nursery Boys and Nursery Girls. They are just so pretty. Projects with them too coming soon!

The other two cards were made with the new Dovecraft papers. Again, they are really lovely.. dragons and fairies, pets... take a look.. they're really lovely.

Last but not least for today is my daughters new creation. She is making a mini scrapbook for her friend Laura, and has used the DCWV Spring pack. Very pretty and summery. I'm not sharing the inside pages just yet as they haven't been finished., but I think she's done a really good job of it so far, don't you?

I hope you like the photos. We do still have Truly living with us, the home which was planned didn't work out so we still have the pleasure of her company. She is a fantastic little dog, who has her little quirky ways which are so cute. She gets on so well with Holly and Scoobs that I could be tempted to keep the little dot to myself.. she's adorable!!!! Only thing is, if I did that I wouldn't be able to keep fostering for Jackie - and of course the dogs who need all the help they can.

Well.. that's me for now. Work is calling again, so out to my Studio I go when I've grabbed another cuppa..

Bind it.. bind it...

.....just a little bit of take it easy.. (my rendition from Bend it, by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch... remember them? this song is so ace!!!)

But, in fact I have been taking it easy today and made a couple of projects using my bind it all. I love this little machine!

I didn't include ribbons on the bindings as the children they are for are only toddlers - safety first!
Jacob's card and book were made using Docrafts papers, stamps etc, and Isabelle's were made using Papercraft 4 You papers, Docrafts papers, Dovecraft stamps, and the images are cuddlybuddly downloads.

And here is Jacob's card in closer detail..must admit, I wasn't too sure about the robots in the paper pack, but after I bought the stamp, thought they worked quite well.. hope you like it - and it also fits the challenge on page plans..

Here's my new bind it all.
I have had the pleasure of meeting the Mr Bind it All himself.. he is a really lovely guy who came over from the US to meet a group of us the other week, to talk about the machine and to give us all some little hints and tips.. since I bought it home, it's been one thing after another and I haven't had time to play with it.. but this week I have finished all my commissions to date, and I have a weekend off to play... lol.. Well.. tata for now.. I'll be back tomorrow when I get around to uploading some new cards and projects. Have a good evening all.
