Sew Pretty Corners

Morning crafters...

I finally managed to get back and do a bit of blogging, so thought I would share one of my little makes for the Sew Pretty shows that are on this week. I haven't managed to catch up with a lot of them, but they are on the Sky box ready to watch when I get a minute - but I've been taking advantage of the nice weather this week and got the garden sorted out, the greenhouse set up and ready with everything planted - so been a tad busy.

It's been a lovely bit of time off over Easter, but there has been crafting done too, although that will have to wait to share.

Today however..... is this little make. I have used the Perfect Posies corner to create the details on the card.

I began by layering up my A5 white card with black and patterned paper. The top section was layered up too but left plain as I wanted the ribbon around the centre. The corners were cut from black cardstock and I did a chain stitch along the leaf stems and added bead details to the flowers.

The flowers were stuck onto white cardstock and trimmed around with scrissors. I then used my Nuvo pens to add colour to the white areas of the flowers and leaves. I shaded them to add dimension.

The middle of the bow was a plastic embellishment, a ribbon slider, that I bought from Meiflower and added hot glue and glitter to the inside. It just gave it a little sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Miniature Moments set. I cut it from gold mirror card, black and pink to match the card.

I hope you like the card today.... I have another one to show you tomorrow, so please check back soon!

New Baby....

Good evening folks!

It's another late one here before I retire off to Noddy Land for a few hours. Tomorrow I'm up bright and early as I'm off to do a couple of days work at the Craft show at York Racecourse - something new for me, so wish me luck!!

This last week has seen me down on TV in Peterborough last Friday with some fab sale shows, and also my mega trip straight up to Glasgow the same day. We had a four day show doing workshops with Tonic and a great time was had by all. So lovely to see some familiar faces and some new ones too. We saw some fantastic Kensington handbags being made by male and female crafters alike!

Anyway, onto tonight, and I thought I would share with you a little make from this last weeks Craftinator shows with the Baby Rococo. I love the new baby dies, they are so gorgeous and make a great statement piece on your cards. On this card, I have used the wordings from one of the dies and the pram from another. I love the old fashioned pram. So sweet.

I knew I wanted to use these pieces of pale pink gingham and spot paper to create a very delicate baby card, so teamed it up with the matt silver shimmer card to add a little shine, but not too much. I used our circular Essentials set to create the corners and the topper in the centre. The pram was cut from two shades of grey cardstock and layered together to create a shadow.

I used some patterned paper that had been embossed through the hood of the pram to create some folded fabric and stuck this in place, and then trimmed a piece of scrappy paper to match to fit behind the aperture in the pram. I finished it with a little pink bow and a beady heart.

The wheels as you can see, I filled in with the leftover sections of the die cut. It was easy to stick it in to the gaps as the shadow was there to hold it in place.

I added some of the ruby red Nuvo glitter drops to add some details.

I hope you like the card, I thoroughly enjoyed making it.

Until next time..

Welcome baby.....

Morning all...

I have a few minutes to spare this morning, so I thought I would share a couple of makes with you all. I'm not sure if I shared them a few years ago, but I still like them, so thought I would share again as you may be in need of inspiration.

Besides that.... how are you all doing? Things here have been okay since we lost our old cat - he had been with us for quite a number of years, 19 this year and he was doing really well right up to the end. We picked ourselves up, tried to get on with things and nursed his best friend, Lola, as best we could so she didn't miss him too much. Both her and her brother Humphrey are doing really well.

Today, I'm getting ready for a few days up in Glasgow with Denise and Pam doing our workshops. It's really lovely to have two ladies vastly experienced in workshops and the whole crafting circuit - it absolutely makes a difference to how things work. As those (like me) will know, it's not as easy as it seems.... it's quite hard at times, and having friendships and people you can rely on wholeheartedly, is quite simply wonderful. To achieve things you work for for years give a certain self achievement target too... knowing all the ins and outs, how things work, and not giving up at the first hurdle is as important as not giving up at the 20th!!!

Anyway... enough of me reminiscing about my craft life over the last *cough* number of years... here are the cards I want to share with you today.

This first one was made using a lovely stamped image (I think LOTV) and was cut out using Tonic dies, these have sentiments in.. I will check which set it is for you shortly..

I coloured the cutesy teddy and bunny in with my alcohol pens and added a few little details in white gel pen. I love the blend on this image... it worked really well I think.

This was another little image I coloured in, I think again it's a LOTV image... and as I coloured her in with alcohol pens I stamped in a Momento inkpad. The sentiment frame is Tonic (Just a note) and the Baby sentiments too. The little stork is cute too as you can use the little die on its own aswell. Perfect little accent to the card I think.

Well... I hope you like the cards today. I promise to try and post more regularly... hopefully will get a few things to share with you later.

Until then... happy crafting everyone. xxx
