Love heart girl

Morning!!

How are we all this morning? I thought I would pop by and upload my project for today before things get a bit hectic making up some of the lush stuff in my demo kit. I am really looking forward to a day getting inky and colour-y (is that a word? No? Well, it should be me thinks.. lol)

Onto this card, and this is the finished section of the one I showed yesterday. The girl is the added extra. I was playing around with my pens, pencils and a few stamps that I found in my room when I moved the other week. She is a Greeting Farm stamp (love these!) and has never been inked up. I know! Shock! 

I inked her up with Momento Desert Sand ink and then used my pens and pencils to add shading.  It's sorta the 'no lines' stamping, but you can still see the basic outline here. 

Here's the card in full. You can see with this one, I've just plonked her at the side of the card so that you can still see the beautiful die finish and the wording. 

To finish, I added some glitter glue around the edges just to add a bit of sparkle. 

I hope you like today's card... I enjoyed getting my pens and pencils back out to get some colouring in done... and now I'm off to do a little more up in the Hovel...

Here's lookin' at you, Kid.....

LOL..... the post just had to be called that didn't it?! 

How've we all been? Things here at Austin Towers has been a bit bonkers. The craft room has now more or less moved into another room (albeit, there's another box of  stuff to squeeze in somewhere!) and the other room has started to get dissected! The wall has come down, making it a through kitchen/diner and things are slowly getting put where they need to be. It all takes time, and the last few days I haven't had the willpower to get it finished. All in good time. 

I have had a bit of fun making a few little crochet bits though. And here's my latest little addition. I keep joking with the hubby that it's another toy for Holly's toy box.. and it may well be! That's another thing - to stop the wooflet from pinching shoes from the rack to carry and greet you, we are getting her a little toy box of her own.. so little owlet may go in there... or he may go in my craft room. We'll see! 

So. Here's Owlet. He hasn't really got a name. All ideas welcome!! We do have various things that have names. Truly has her little Tickleberry (a stuffed tick toy!) and she's also had Giraffity (guess what that was?!) and Fleabea... (yep. You guessed that too!) So... owlet? What do you think?!

Isn't he just the cutest little guy? Here are a few close ups of his details.. BIG orange eyes.. some toy eyes that I found in a little bag on my shelves. Thought they looked just the job, so plopped 'em on.

And his feeties.... oh I sooooo loved making his feeties!!! They looked so cute!

And of course he had to have a little friend.. and this was the one I did first - the little Bunjy Bunny. I'm not too happy with how this one turned out, so I may try this pattern again. But my post-it notes have gone into over drive, sticking into pages of books and magasines that I want to get doing next! 

I think my Bunjy also needs more details on her face, so this is going to have to be on my next attempt me thinks. For now, she will suffice.... as a toy in a wooflet toy box, she'll be fine and dandy!

Well... I hope you all enjoyed today's little 'different' type of post... I have certainly enjoyed having a bit of time out from the papercraft to dabble in other things.

All my love hearts

There's something rather lovely about hearts, red roses and valentines that makes you go all mushy isn't there... and this year, I managed to combine all three of those things to create a couple of little cards for this special day. I didn't give the blue one to anyone, as I was just playing about with the Tonic dies really, but the red one was handed over to the Hubby. First Valentines card for a few years lol. 

I opted to keep the layout of the cards quite simple really, just choosing my colours and using white as my layers in between. I think they're really eye catching. 

This is the close up of the red card I did, and you can see all the beautiful detail in the Tonic die cut. Just amazing! I have a little collection of these beauties after spending time working with them the other week over at Manchester, and I just love them. I love the way they all link together, and work with one another. I love the way they cut, and the way the designs are simply delightful. 

Here are the two cards I made, and you can see just by changing the colours and adding depth and layer to the cards how you can make them pop. The blue one has a little addition to it that i added the other day, so I will show you that tomorrow. 

But here you can see the whole card. This is the same layout that I have used for both, same dies, different colours. 

Tomorrow I have the pleasure of working with my long awaited Docrafts kit.... and it is beautiful. I took it all out of the box, put it all back in and sat and admired it. I know that isn't what you are supposed to do with the items, but they're just toooooo nice to use!!

I have some stamping and colouring to do tomorrow, and then its on to the other bits of the kits to put them all together. i hope you check back on my progress later in the week... it would be lovely to have you pop by.

Beautiful blossoms...

Well... just as promised, here is the card. Doesn't she look lovely? I really love this image and I can't quite understand what took me so long to ink her up. 

She was coloured with alcohol pens (variety of different ones) and then extra shading was added with Pitt Pastels. Love those little pencils, I can tell you! Thank you Jak... me thinks it's a new obsession. lol. 

The little borders at the top and bottom were cut from a Marianne Die, and then shaded up with a little bit of Gilding Wax. 

The flowers were die cut and shaped too. A little wax was used on those too, just to add a little colour. 

I hope you like today's card... I've kept it fairly simple. In fact, I was unsure whether to put the flowers on or not, but decided I would. However, it meant leaving the greeting off, but hey... I like it just how it is. 

Whatever you're upto today, I hope you find time to craft too...

Morning folks.

I know, I know, I know... I promise to write more often, but it was one promise that went awry!

I have had a bit of a busy time since Christmas, but am now looking at a few weeks off work which will let me finally finish sorting out my craft room and get some crafting in FOR ME!

You know how things get. You look in your diary and it looks a bit empty for February, then something pops up and you get offered something to do. That's what happened last week with Tonic. I was asked if I could cover for Jodie at a show in Manchester and after a nano-second thinking about it, of course I said YES!

I love Tonic products and I love die cutting. So it was really a win-win situation for me. I met lots of lovely crafters and some familiar faces too. I even managed to buy a few things for my new room. And a new bag. My bag is pretty awesome and has lovely owls on it!

Anyway.. enough of my coming's and goings.. and here's a little card for you.

The image that I've used is a digi I have on file from a long time ago. In fact, the image was coloured a long time ago using prisma pencils. She kept popping up on my desk when I was sorting out my room, and finally thought to myself she ought to be put on a card!

I have used the lovely Tonic border punch at the top and bottom and used the offcut from the punch to create another flat layer on top. I added some pearly dots and glitter too. Go me, eh?!

I also coloured this one in too....

She's a Penny Black image and one that's been in my Stamp Collection for a while (uninked like alot of others!)

Isn't she just lovely? She was coloured with alcohol markers (a variety of different ones!) and a new aquisition to my crafting stash - some Pitt Pastels. Thanks to Jak, who convinced me I needed them... and yes, I love them lots!

She will be put onto a card later when I've had another cuppa and done the wooflets breakfast. I WILL try to get back later to show you the finished result.

Well, 2014 is well underway.....

and I guess that means that it's only about another 50 weeks to Christmas! lol.

How are we all anyway? I'm trying desperately to get back into the realms of this bloggin' malarky, but as yet, time is just running away again with hospital appointments, minor ops, moving craft rooms blah, blah, blah...

The moving of the Craft room is the biggest upheaval known to man I'm sure... I hated moving from my shed to the room I was in, never mind moving even more stash to the new room from the old one...! Talk about a headache! It is giving me chance for a good tidy up though and a sort out.. and in fact, I love my new room better than the last. It's a little bigger so alot more room to 'grow'.

As it's the New Year, it also means that we need to make our resolutions and I have already completed one. I'm working on the other - blogging more and completing the monthly challenge on the filofax page on Facebook. I think it may be easier to do it on here and print it out each week, rather than write it down.. but you never know. Watch this space.

It's also new demo time for Docrafts, and this first loop of 2014 is just beautiful!! There is a mixture of old and new, a little vintage, a little fresh and a little french. A great concoction of goodness me thinks!

Here, on this card, I've mixed a little bit of the Madame Payraud with the older Gorjuss stamps and you can see just how wonderfully they work together. Of course, with stamping, you can colour to coordinate with anything which is what I've done here.

The image was stamped in a permanent ink and coloured with watercolour pencils. I did a little stump blending with them to give it a softer look.

These butterflies are a fantastic addition to the craft room as they are preformed and shape wonderfully as you can see. They have a mixture of different colours and sizes. Perfect for any card.

The letters are new urban stamps - the red rubber cling stamps from Docrafts. And I love these. There are lower and upper case available in two different sets and the lower case fit perfectly in the small circle punch as you can see. They also fit - when punched out - onto the top of the circular foam pads. Great fit eh?!

Well.... that's all for now.. my little pinky finger is still finding it hard to type with the lack of an end! And it's quite painful too even after a few weeks of recouperation! My mouth and jaw are still hurting after the wisdom tooth got took out the other day, and my little wooflets are waiting for me to turn the light out and go to sleep.... so I will bid you goodnight, and I hope that you will check on my next post (which will be this week sometime, promise!!)

Happy 2014!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

My very first new Years Resolution hasn't got off to a brilliant start, but I can't do everything all at once can I?

As you may guess my resolution was to start my blogging again and at least get it more regular than I had at the end of last year. I did want to blog more and I had lots to show you all in December, but had a slight mishap with the end of my finger and a pair of scissors.... which resulted in me spending four hours in accident and emergency to try to get it to stop bleeding! It also resulted in me not being able to type as it was painful on the end of my finger!

However. This year, I just simply haven't had the time to update my blog and get going.. but I've just rejoined the 365/30 lists page on Facebook and I'm getting ready to get going.

I love blogging - have done it for years, and I find it quite therapeutic to shove on my thoughts and just have a general chat about most things. I've sort of changed how I blog over the last few years after a few ups and downs, but I'm wanting to get back to how I used to do it, enjoy it like I used to and blog more (like I used to).

I hope you come along with me on my journey of craft, chat and other things in 2014 and I promise to be back on later to upload a few projects that I've been making for my demonstrations over the past few weeks.

Loving the cuteness....

You know, I honestly don't know where time goes these days!!!!

I have great intentions of keeping upto date with my blogging and it just seems to lapse... but hey, here I am today with a very quick-to-make little easel card that I put together at my demo this weekend.

I love anything cute, that's for sure, and the Forever Friends bears are no exception. There is a great selection of stamps to choose from too! Bonus!!

The topper is stamped and the bases covered with the new Love range papers.

Week two of Digi Choosday...

Yes, it's that time again over at the Polkadoodles blog, and it's Digi Choosday day... which means it's Challenge time, and yes, you can join in.

This week, our theme was 'FASHION DIVA' and I chose to use the fantastic Emma Canning digi image 'Cute as a Button' that you can find in the Polkadoodles store. Check out the links on the Challenge page, and the other DT's work too - loads of inspiration on there for you all to look at.

As you can see, I've chosen to use the image as the main focus on the card. Isn't she sweet? She does have a button on the image that you can colour, but I opted to add a button in to the front of the dress. I also dotted some buttons around randomly on the card just to keep in with the theme.

The flowers are a Memory Box die cut that I've had for a while and never took out the packet - pretty much the same as these cute ladybirds too! I die cut the flowers in green, then in dark pink and layered them up to create a more realistic flower colour.

I couldn't find a sentiment that I wanted to use, so I decided to print out my own on the computer. I love the font - if only I could remember which one I used!! The border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. love this punch...!

My little Diva herself was coloured using watercolour pencils, which were blended with water, then darker shading plopped around, direct to paper. Watercolours are so forgiving that they make the perfect colouring medium for beginners as well as the more advanced.

Ooooh errr... where did that time go?!

Gosh, I can't believe it's so long since I came on here to do a blog post... I really meant to come back on again mid week and sort out my post for Friday's Challenge over at the fab Polkadoodles blog, which you can find HERE. However, time got away with me once again and the past few days have just gone past in a bit of a whizz.....

Firstly though, catching up, and I should have posted this on Friday. This is my entry into the Polkadoodles challenge, which was anything but a card. I decided to make a Christmas Wreath.

I printed out the ready coloured images from the Home for Christmas CD and cut them all out with a little white border all around. I cut out a large circle and covered it with the back panel image, then cut a border and stuck all the decorations around it. I added some sparkle with Ice Diamond stickles.

I am totally loving the Polkadoodles CD's, but it's always a challenge to know which one to turn to when I want to use something.. lol.

The rest of the weekend has been taken up with my son's house move. He has just bought his house with his young lady, and they moved in on Friday. Such a wonderful day for them, but quite sad knowing that he has finally moved out for good. Still, that's a sign of getting old I guess. lol.

I hope to be back tomorrow with something else to show you. I still have my demo samples to show you too. I will catch up - this will forever be my mantra, I'm sure!

This week is quite a busy one too. I have just received my new demo kit and need to make samples with that, and also a little (!) package from Debbi Moore for a few shows that are going on this week... so keep tuned, I will let you know for definate when the shows are.
